South India, a region of overwhelming grandeur and pristine beauty, is the region of India that includes the entire Indian Peninsula, south oft he Vindhya ranges. The Narmada and Mahanadi rivers from the northern boundaries of the region, while the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal surround the peninsula in the west south and east respectively. The southernmost point of the region (and of mainland India) is Kanyakumari.

About South India

India’s Great Divide is the Vindhya Mountains. They run from east to west, separating the fertile river valley of the Ganges called the Ganga, from the Deccan Plateau which occupies much of the peninsula of India. Check South India Tours package details below.

It also separates the north, where the predominant languages are Sanskrit – based (brought in by the Indo Iranian herds people about 3,500 years ago), from the Dravidian tongues brought in by a long-headed race from the Mediterranean about a thousand years earlier.
